Cookie Policy

Purpose

This Cookie Policy supplements and explains the Privacy Policy separately established by the MINKABU Group regarding the use of cookies on the Company’s services. The MINKABU Group, which includes MINKABU THE INFONOID, Inc. (“the Company”) and its consolidated subsidiaries and equity method affiliates (“the Company Group”), sets forth the types, purposes of use, and settings of cookies used through the services it provides (including related incidental services, applications, and tools, collectively, “the Company’s Services”) in this Cookie Policy.

By using the Company’s Services, customers are deemed to have agreed to this Cookie Policy. For some of the Company’s Services provided to regions regulated under GDPR, a consent management screen for cookie usage is available, and customers can change their cookie settings or withdraw their consent at any time. For other services, customers can withdraw their consent to the use of cookies by changing their browser settings. However, disabling cookies may affect some of the functions of the Company’s Services and the content of various services provided.

*For public information on external transmissions based on the Telecommunications Business Act, please refer to “About External Transmission of User Information”.

What are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored in the browser of a customer’s PC, tablet, smartphone, etc., when they browse the Company’s Services. By using cookies, the Company can measure the effectiveness of its promotions and how customers use the services, and provide better services to customers. When the Company acquires a customer’s personal data through cookies, that information is treated as personal data. The handling of personal data is stipulated in the Company Group’s Privacy Policy.

Types of Cookies and Purposes of Use

The Company’s Services use one or all of the following four types of cookies (depending on the service provided).

CategoryPurpose of Use
Strictly Necessary CookiesThese cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the Company’s Services and cannot be disabled by the customer. They are usually set only in response to actions by the customer that correspond to a service request, such as privacy settings or filling out login forms. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information. It is possible to set your browser to block/warn about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not function.
Functional CookiesThese cookies are used to improve the convenience of the Company’s Services. They can remember customer choices (such as language, region, or display settings) and provide customized functions upon their return. These cookies may be set by the Company Group or by third parties with whom the Company Group partners to provide the Company’s Services. The Company Group uses functional cookies with the customer’s prior consent obtained through a consent management tool when such consent is required for the use of these cookies.
Analytical CookiesThese cookies are used to understand and analyze how customers use the Company’s Services and to optimize them. For example, they can be used to improve site performance and optimize content by aggregating the number of visitors, understanding the pages and links viewed, and analyzing the duration of stay. These cookies are usually set by the Company Group or by a third-party analytics tool with which the Company Group partners (e.g., Google Analytics). The collected information is, in principle, processed statistically and does not directly identify individuals. The Company Group uses analytical cookies with the customer’s prior consent obtained through a consent management tool when such consent is required for the use of these cookies.
Targeting CookiesThese cookies are used to deliver advertisements and content based on a customer’s interests. These cookies are set by the Company Group or third parties such as advertising partners and may track a customer’s behavior across multiple websites. Even if targeting cookies are disabled, advertisements will still be displayed, but they will be generic content not based on the customer’s interests. The Company Group uses targeting cookies with the customer’s prior consent obtained through a consent management tool when such consent is required for the use of these cookies
